Select which team members in your firm can access your client

Learn how to manage which team members can access a client’s company in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

You don’t have to do it all. You can give your team members admin access to your clients so they can help you maintain their books.

There are two ways you can change a member’s access. You can do it on the Client dashboard or the Team screen. We’ll show you how.

Note: You can also change your team members’ access to your firm’s books.

Choose which members can access a client’s info

You can choose which members can access a client’s info on your Client dashboard. This also lets you see all the team members that currently have access to a client's info.

  1. Go to Clients.
  2. Find your client, then select Edit client.
  3. Go to the Team access section, then select +Show all team members.
  4. Select the team member you want to grant or remove access.
  5. Select Save.

Choose which companies a member can access

You can choose which client companies your team member can access on the Team screen. This method also lets you see all the clients your team member has access to.

  1. Go to Team.
  2. Find and select your team member.
  3. Select the Client Access tab.
  4. Select the clients you want (or don’t want) this team member to access.
  5. Select Save.
