I am a big fan of Google calendar and gmail. It makes it easy for me to sync with team members when needed. What about you?
Hi, @ParkwayInc,
After learning about your business, I understand that you have to manage multiple things and keep on top of your priorities. Because you're a CTO and Co-Founder of a business, I would love to know what your favourite tool is for managing your business day-to-day? Do you use apps? Do you use something simple; a diary? A calendar? What's the one tool you couldn't live without? :)
Can't wait to hear your ideas on this!
Great post @LeslieBarber !
I am a lover of the Outlook calendar and I also love keeping a handwritten version of a calendar too (a good back up in case things ever go wrong!). To-do lists are also something I create every single day, they help me keep organised and accountable for my workload. Ticking things off a to-do list is so satisfying, don't you think?
Shahji it would be so interesting to get your take on this question after chatting about your business. Do you have any favourite tools to help you manage your business?
Hi, @lynda!
Welcome to the UK QB Community!
I think it would be really interesting to have your perspective on this question... What is your favourite tool to manage your business and keep organised?
Hands down, it is asana. It's free and a great tool for delegating work and tracking projects.
Hi, @lynda!
Hope you had a great weekend :)
I have just had a research and that app looks great! Do you use it to schedule your accountancy to-dos? Do you allow anyone else onto the app? It says you can have up to 15 members on the app! :)
I do love using online apps for keeping organised but I also love my written diary. Do you use any written organisation tips?
Hi Leslie,
I use QuickBooks Work under the Accountant profile. It allows me to manage migrations we have for many of our clients transitioning from other accountancy packages onto QuickBooks Online. I have a very bad memory so this helps me remember deadlines etc. We also use Slack as a firm which can integrates with this feature of QuickBooks Online (as well as outside it). Its a great way of keeping in touch with the whole office through an online portal and keeping them up to date with what clients are nearly ready to be transitioned over to QuickBooks, VAT deadlines and many other tasks.
Alongside the digital tools I use, I also have a good old fashioned handwritten diary as well as my Outlook 365 calendar. If one system fails, the other is always there for a back up. I love having a to do list on my desk so I can check off anything that needs doing during the day in order of priority or a post it note on my monitor always works wonders.
Kind Regards,
Emily Mockett
Yes, I create projects for my team (their bookkeeping tasks). Give them dates to do things and then assign that. They can even communicate with me there. All Free! They have access to as you assign them. I haven't figured out a reason to pay for it, as they give what I need it for for nothing. I love a free app!
Happy Monday!
Hi, @lynda!
Wow, that's an amazing tool then and allows you to be an awesome team. How many do you have on the team? Do you set weekly to-dos?
@EmilyMockett - hats off to you, you certainly inspire me to be more organised! I am completely the same when it comes to remembering things. I do have moments of 'I wish I had written that down!'. I must admit, I secretly love being organised.
