I was able to add the app Connect to PayPal with no issues.
I'm now trying to add the bank account "PayPal" and I always get an error:
"Something unexpected happened and we can't connect to your bank.
Try re-entering your credentials to fix the connection"
This happens every time and it asks me to login again.
This happens with Quickbooks Online and also on my android app.
Can you help please?
Hello there, Nunzio,
You no longer need to add PayPal as a bank account since you have the Connect to Paypal app. It brings in your PayPal transactions into QuickBooks with new features.
Check this link for more information: Use the Connect to PayPal app.
Stay in touch with me if there's anything else I can be of help.
Thank you for your reply.
that is correct. The app connects ok but the banking section doesn't.
I have tried on different computers as well...
Really unsure on why this happens.
Password and username are correct as I can login on the official PayPal business website.
We do have an issue raised with our banking engineers currently for the Paypal bank connection could you possibly PM us on Facebook or Twitter with your email address. As it gets redacted if you post in the Community and we add your company to the investigation and notify you as soon as this is resolved
There is a major issue with PayPal integration. It is known.
What i have been told on the Chat support and phone support today, is that if you have or have had a multi-currency account, we will no longer be able to integrate as we have done in the past.
Uploading a CSV is not a suitable option, as it only allows one field for amount (ie not PayPal fees AND gross amount).
You would now also have to spend time sorting out the correct value required for any transactions where you receive or make payment overseas (there is two or three lines for a transaction in or out for payment overseas: 1 for currency exchange (2 if you pay by credit card), 1 for the actual payment)
It was never perfect, but at least it did fees correctly.
I suggest looking elsewhere for a financial solution if PayPal integration is key, as it is for us.
We'll also be looking for compensation for removal of service and time spent replacing.
I can confirm this issue has not been fixed yet and did not receive any other updates from support.
It is pretty frustrating as my transactions are mainly PayPal so Quickbooks is pretty useless to me at the moment.
I will start looking for alternatives to QuickBooks soon if this issue is not resolved.
I got QuickBooks as you mentioned it integrates with PayPal - it does not so this is very misleading.
I do not want to upload CSC manually!
The connection issue between PayPal and QuickBooks still being worked on by our engineers. Rest assured that we will send email notifications as soon as the issue is resolved.
We appreciate your patience while we're working on this one.
I have spoken to people on the Chat service and the help phoneline and both disagree wholly with your post.
PayPal integration for those who have or have had a mutli-currency PayPal account is no longer possible, and is NOT being fixed.
That is a fact.
People who want this functionality have to look elsewhere.
I have spent 48 minutes on the phone with support regarding this issue.
They could not help and I was told engineers are looking into this (it has been almost a month now).
Is it possible to have a real answer?
Each time I call/email/chat I receive different replies from support. The only common thing is that nobody can really help or know what the real problem is.
Why are other apps in Quickbooks using PayPal working ok and Quickbooks can't even get this to work?
The post above is correct - we no longer support multicurrency PayPal accounts. Our engineers are looking into bringing back the integration with multicurrency accounts, however this will take some time. We apologise for the length of time spent on the call earlier, however this is the official response to your PayPal issue.
If you process any transactions within your PayPal account that are not GBP, your account is multicurrency and will not allow for integration. As far as we know, there is no way to change this once you have received multicurrency transactions in the past.
If there are any transactions in another currency within the account, at any point, the connection will unfortunately no longer work.
Was this problem just fixed (after over 3 months)?
I can see my PayPal transactions since yesterday....although it still gives some error when trying to reconnect the PayPal account (website down try again soon error 15).
It tells me I need to reconnect as something is not quite right...
The issue has not been resolved, which is why you are still experiencing those errors. Great that you were able to get some transactions to pull through though!
Currently we are unable to support any Paypal accounts with multi currency and we have no date on when we will be able to connect to this bank again. It is something we would look at when the connection is more stable.
