C55326: Periods of Account information is required for all Self Employmentsgetting this error at the end of filling tax return

Hello there, Jonny. C55326 is a mismatch or a missing link in the timeline of your business's financial year. HMRC requires an unbroken digital record of your Period of Account. If QuickBooks doesn't have a clear start and end date for your self-employment, the submission will be rejected.

To resolve this, verify your business start date, as QuickBooks uses it to define your tax obligations. Go to Settings, select Account and Settings, and ensure the Business Start Date is accurate for your specific trade or property business.

You'll also want to confirm your tax identity by navigating to Advanced within Account and settings. In the Accounting section, ensure the Tax form is set to Sole Trader or UK Property. Selecting Other or Limited Company will prevent data from mapping correctly to HMRC.

Lastly, go to All apps, select Income Tax, and review the Final Declaration for the 2025/2026 tax year. In the Accounting Adjustments section, verify that the dates match your business year without any gaps or overlaps from the previous year.

Correcting these dates ensures your financial data maintains the legally required electronic path. Once the Period of Account is validated, you can complete your submission and receive your final HMRC tax calculation.
