Hello, @debbiejonesdauga.
Yes, you can close your account quickly. We’re sad to know you'll want to cancel your QuickBooks Online account. However, I'll make sure to share the detailed steps so you can perform this task.
To start with, go to the Gear icon and chose Account and settings. From there, you'll have the option to cancel your subscription in the Billing & Subscription section. Let me guide you on how.
- Sign in as an Admin to QuickBooks Online.
- Select the Gear icon, and choose Account and Settings.
- Click Billing and Subscription.
- In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel (paid subscription) or Cancel Trial (if you’re using a trial).
- Select Continue to Cancel, then Continue to Cancel again.
- Finally, answer the exit survey questions (to help us make QuickBooks better), then scroll down and select Confirm Cancel.

Also, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Support Team for further assistance. They can also cancel your account securely and verify the charge you get so you can request a refund. To reach them, click this article: Customer Care Team.
Additionally, you can reactivate your account anytime you want to use the software in the future. You'll be prompted to resubscribe as soon as you log into your company. For more details, check out this article: Reactivating QBO Account.
