client account

I opened a client account and was syncing them with their retail software.  QB har recently worked directly with the Company and has made some major changes that will impact what I have already synced.  I would like to remove the client account and start a new client account and move forward with the latest updates.  How do I do this?

We have two options available that you can do to start over with a new client account.

  • Wipe the data from your client's QuickBooks Online file and start with new company data.
  • Cancel your client's account, and start a new subscription.

If your client's account is active within 90 days, you can follow the steps below to purge the company file. Note: This process will delete all the data that has been entered in their company. If they're using QuickBooks Online Simple Start, you'll have to cancel the subscription and start a new one.

  1. Log in onto your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Change the URL and include /purgecompany. For example, the URL shows, you can change it to: 
  3. On the next screen, you'll see the summary of all items to be deleted.
  4. Type Yes to proceed with the deletion, and then click OK.
  5. Choose Wipe Data once your selections are complete.
