Morning all, Rather annoyed with myself. I used an incorrect/different email address when purchasing and setting up Quickbooks online. Now when I export from Desktop - it creates a new company in trial version in Quickbooks online which it is asking me to subscribe to. How do I remove the trial company and or amend the email address so that I can export from desktop to online correctly? Thanks
Good morning too, Vanessa09.
I'm here to help you get this sorted out so you can export the data to your QuickBooks Online account. Just to verify, are you able to log in to the QuickBooks Online account with the incorrect email address? If so, you can update the information by following these steps:
Please see this sample screenshot for a visual reference:
Once done, go back to your QuickBooks Desktop and follow the steps in this article on how to move your data: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.

Thank you very much for your response. I have done as you suggested.
1) When I get to select company option. It does not give me the option to select the company subscription I have actually paid for. It only gives me the option for the trial version.
2) I am exporting from Premier 2016 version. Is this also why I am struggling to import into online?
Thanks
Hello Vanessa09, if you log into accounts.intuit.com you can amend the email address in their but you would need to know the incorrect email address you registered for online to then be able to change it so that you can export your desktop into the account your paying for.
Hi Ashleigh
Quickbooks desktop was in my personal email.
I registered and purchased online using my business email address.
When I exported from Desktop - it created a second company on the Quickbooks Online profile. But this is in a trial version. It keeps asking me to pay the subscription.
I know and have access to both emails.
Using the information given above I have changed the Quickbooks Online email address to my personal email so it is now the same as the desktop version.
But when I tried to export the data again, I am only given the option to choose the TRIAL business as the destination. I do not have the option to choose the business that I have already subscribed and paid for.
How do I remove the trial version company from my Quickbooks Online profile so that I only have the original company I have paid for?
Thanks.
.
Hi Vanessa09, so when you migrate from Desktop you go to the Export to QBO from the company menu, login and the QBO account is on the list. I would suggest you ring the Online helpline support on 0808 234 5337 and give them the Company id number for the online account and they will be able to check the information on the account for you and that so that you can migrate over to it.
