Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.

Your suggestion to clear cache and go incognito has done the trick.

So my next question for you would be "why does this stored data cause conflict? Is it clearly for security purposes or something else?"

Only reason I'm asking is so that I understand what is happening should this issue present itself in future.

Many thanks.

You've reached the right support, quint_matt-hotma.

Let's try some basic browser troubleshooting to fix the bank connection error you're getting in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

Let's begin by using a private browser or incognito when reconnecting your bank. This is a good place to start the troubleshoot since this type of browser doesn't store cache.

You can refer to the following keyboard shortcuts below:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If it works, go back to your original browser and clear the cache to make sure your browser functions more efficiently. This also eliminates unnecessary data and refreshes the program. Otherwise, you can try other supported browsers to help narrow down the cause of this behavior.

For banking questions in QBSE, feel free to visit this link: Banking.

If it does the same thing, I recommend getting in touch with our QBSE Support for further investigation. This needs a more thorough investigation which requires your account to be pulled out in a secure environment.

Here's how to reach us:

  1. From the Assistant tab, type or say Talk to a human.
  2. If you want to connect with us directly, type or say Talk to a human.
  3. Then select your preferred support method: Message an agent (Live chat), Call an agent, or Get a callback.

The details on how to get in touch with the support are outlined in this article: How to contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support.

If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know in the comment section down below. Have a nice day.

Hello there, quint_matt-hotma. Glad to hear from you again.

Good to know that you're able to fix the error by following the recommendation of my colleague.

A list of web pages that we have visited, as well as the associated data and time of visit, may cause unexpected behavior. If there's too much cache stored locally by a web browser, it'll make software like QuickBooks not to work properly.

There's no recorded information, and the websites you visit before won't save in the incognito mode. That's why when you access QuickBooks using an incognito window, it'll load faster and improve your experience without getting unexpected error.

Since we have verified that it's a browser-related issue, let's make sure to clear the cache on your browser to experience QuickBooks efficiently. Below are the articles that you can check about handling transactions in QBSE:

Please let us know if you have other concerns. We're right here to back you up. Take care and have a good one!
