How can I cancel an accountant billed subscription without transferring the subscription to the client first?

Hello there, pc35.

 

To cancel an accountant-billed subscription with your client, you'll need to remove them and select Transfer billing to the client.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. If you haven't already, make your client the primary admin of their company file.
  2. In QuickBooks Online Accountant, go to Settings and then Billing and Subscriptions.
  3. Click the Your Subscriptions tab.
  4. Select the client you want to remove.
  5. If the client is currently inactive, make them active first.
  6. From the Select actions▼dropdown, select Transfer billing to the client.

 

Please note that once you remove your client from the plan, the subscription won't be the same rate you paid. Promotional discounts will discontinue on existing products transferred to direct billing.

 

After the transfer, your client will have read-only access to their QuickBooks company. While they can view their accounting data, they will be unable to make any changes until they update their billing information.
