For your security, please avoid uploading receipts that contain sensitive or personal data, such as full credit card numbers or government-issued identifiers.
You can upload your receipts in several common formats, as QuickBooks Sole Trader is compatible with PDF, JPEG, JPG, and PNG files.
To capture and attach your receipts in the QuickBooks mobile app, follow these steps:
- To get started, tap Snap Receipt under Quick Actions. Alternatively, open the Menu, navigate to your Receipts list, and select the Camera icon.
- Once your camera opens, capture a clear, steady shot of your receipt.
- Adjust the rotation and framing of your photo until it looks right, then select Use this photo. You can snap and upload up to five images in a single session.
- The QuickBooks mobile app will automatically pull the details from your photo and add the receipt to your Receipts list. Once there, you'll see it marked as either Unlinked or Missing Info while it waits for further action.
- Select the receipt to view its details. If any fields are incomplete, you can manually enter the Date, Supplier, or Amount to ensure accuracy.
- To attach the receipt to a specific expense, simply choose Link a transaction and select the corresponding entry.
- Pick the matching entry from the provided list to complete the link. Click Next, then Confirm.
To upload and attach your receipts in the QuickBooks mobile app, follow these steps:
- Go to Transactions and pick the one you want to update. Once you're in the transaction details, simply select Receipts to get started.
- Choose between Take a photo, Select existing photo, or Select from files.
- After you've snapped a photo or uploaded a file, it will automatically appear as a saved attachment in the Receipts list for that specific transaction.
- Within the Receipts list, you can choose Add another receipt to include more files, or simply swipe left on an existing receipt to reveal the Delete option if you need to remove it.
