How do I categorise Quickbooks payments?

I am trying to reconcile my transactions but dont know which category should my quickbooks payments be in?

How do I categorise Quickbooks payments?

Hi, @fladburycatsitter. I’m happy to assist you with categorizing your payments in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

 

Here's how to Categorize: 

 

  1. Navigate to the Transactions menu.
  2. Locate a transaction in the list.
  3. Select Business if the transaction was for business purposes, or select Personal if it was for personal use. If the transaction falls into both categories, click Split.
  4. Check the category listed in the Category column. QuickBooks will automatically attempt to categorize your transactions for you.
  5. If you need to change the category, click the link, choose a general type, and then select a more specific category.

 

 If you're unsure of the correct category, consult an accountant to ensure proper bookkeeping.
