Here's how to Categorize:
- Navigate to the Transactions menu.
- Locate a transaction in the list.
- Select Business if the transaction was for business purposes, or select Personal if it was for personal use. If the transaction falls into both categories, click Split.
- Check the category listed in the Category column. QuickBooks will automatically attempt to categorize your transactions for you.
- If you need to change the category, click the link, choose a general type, and then select a more specific category.
If you're unsure of the correct category, consult an accountant to ensure proper bookkeeping.
