how to transfer customer accounts from original qbo to new qbo

Hi there, nwmachine-2014.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) does not offer a simple one-click way to transfer all data from one QBO company to another. Here’s how you can transfer customer data, including invoices.

First, you can follow these steps to export the customer list:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and in the TOOLS column, select Export data.
  2. On the List tab, turn on the switch for Customers and turn off the switch for Suppliers and Employees.
  3. Click Export to Excel.
  4. Select OK to make sure that it’s done.

Next, follow these steps to export invoices with customer data:

  1. Navigate to the Reports menu on the left-hand side
  2. In the search bar, type and select Transaction Detail by Customer.
  3. Change the Report period to All Dates and click on the Filter section.
  4. Choose the Transaction Type at the first selection and select Invoice at the third selection.
  5. When finished, click Save As in the upper-right corner, then click the Export icon to export the report.

By exporting the customer's list and customer data with an invoice associated with it, you can then import it into your new QBO company file.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach back out. We're still right here to help!

Another option, purchase a 3rd party service to migrate your data to a new QBO account. You can contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA for details.
