I have created my profile on a sole trader account and I wish to upgrade to quickbooks online so that I can create customers, invoices etc, How do i upgrade?

We appreciate you reaching out here in the Community space, @accounts570. We'll help you sign up for a QuickBooks Online (QBO) subscription so that you can start recording and processing your business transactions.

If you're currently subscribed to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) and wish to utilize QBO to record your data, know you'll need to subscribe to a new product. We'll be happy to write down the steps to get you going:

  1. Go to this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/pricing/
  2. Select your preferred subscription.
  3. Once you're ready, click the Choose plan button. A reminder, you can add a payroll subscription if you have employees under your company. Also, if you're undecided if you want to utilize payroll, you can click Continue without payroll.
  4. In the Checkout page, enter the necessary details and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Also, we're adding this article in case you want to transfer your QBSE data to QBO: Switch from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Online.

After subscribing to the program, you can visit this article to help you set company file to your business preference: Get started with QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you can check these articles to help you add customers, and manage subscriptions and invoices inside the program:

Lastly, we'd like to congratulate you for choosing QuickBooks to manage the recording side of your business. We look forward to helping you to ensure you enjoy your journey using the program. Keep safe, and have a good one.
