I have linked my bank to Quickbooks, but it is only bringing transactions up from May to August, anything before then is not listed. Any ideas why?

I have linked it to the bank twice and each time it only comes up with transactions from May onwards

Most banks only allow QuickBooks to fetch up to 90 days to 24 months’ worth of transactions. This is why your transactions start from May onward, Dalton.

If you'd like to add transactions from before May, you can get a CSV file of your older transactions directly from your bank’s website and manually import them into QuickBooks (this works for any version).

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Sign in to your bank’s website.
  2. Follow your bank’s instructions to download your transactions as a CSV file—each bank’s process may vary.
  3. Make sure the date range for your download includes at least one day before your earliest transaction you want to import.
  4. Save your transactions by downloading them to an accessible location (like your computer's desktop).
  5. Return to your QuickBooks account and click the Link account dropdown, then choose Upload from file.
  6. Click the Select files hyperlink and locate the CSV file you saved.
  7. From the dropdown, select a QuickBooks account for the bank file you want to upload, select the appropriate QuickBooks account, then click Continue.
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions to match the columns in your CSV file with QuickBooks fields, then click Continue.
  9. Select the checkboxes next to the transactions you want to import, then click Continue.
  10. Once the import is complete, click Done.

You can then refer to Step 2 in this article from For customer using QuickBooks Solo Trader dropdown for guidance on the file format and size: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks.

@wjb23dalton

You can use csv2qbo converter tool as a workaround to import historical data.
