I've been round in circles & I'm close to tears of frustration now! I'm trying to add 'Payment options' to an invoice; the words appear but nothing underneath?

I tried to edit my Invoice template but even there I can't see the option where to add Payment Options. I tried to follow an older response on here, but I don't see those options in the settings... Help! I am also getting a lot of errors with other things, too, it used to be easier last year - has something changed?

It can be overwhelming when things don’t work as smoothly as they used to, but I'm here to help you find a solution. Let's address this issue together, Diana.

Before we begin, could you please provide more details about the errors you are encountering? If possible, sharing any screenshots or error messages would be incredibly helpful.

If you're trying to add payment methods to your invoices in QuickBooks Sole Trader, please note that the online payment feature is not available in this version. For more information about the features available in QuickBooks Sole Trader, you can refer to this article: Accounting Software for Sole Traders.

However, you can include your payment details directly in the invoice by sharing your bank details or specifying other payment options in the Account and Settings.

Here's how to add your payment details to the invoice:

1. Click on the Gear icon, then select Account and Settings.

2. Choose Sales and click the Pencil icon on the Invoice payments to edit.
3. On the Payment instructions box, add your bank details or preferred payment options.

4. Once completed, click Save, then Done to apply changes.

Please note that you will need to view the invoice in PDF format to see the payment details.

Additionally, if you would like to personalize your sales forms, you can customise your invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks.

If you have any additional questions or need clarification about managing your invoices in QB Sole Trader, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to support you and ensure your business needs are met.

Yes, I have done that (addi g my payment details) but it won't let me send the invoice as before. Now, every time I click on the green button 'Save and Send', and error message comes up saying that I have not entered my Payment Methods.

Thank you for providing additional information regarding your concerns about the payment method, Diana.

To ensure we're on the same page, could you please provide more details about the specific errors you encountered? It would help me provide more accurate assistance or solutions. Any extra information or screenshots you can provide will be valuable in addressing the problem.

In the meantime, let's start with some basic troubleshooting steps. A helpful initial action is to open your QBO account in a private browsing window, which does not store cached data that might be causing the issue.

Here is a list of shortcut keys you can use to access private browsing:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Control + Option + P

If it works, return to your regular browser and clear your browser's history to start afresh. Otherwise, consider using other supported browsers as alternatives.

Once everything is fixed, you can proceed with recording and receiving invoice payments.

The steps outlined above should help you resolve the issue you are currently experiencing. For further assistance with your payment method, don't hesitate to get in touch with us.
