I want to downgrade from QBO Essentials to QBO Simple Start. Do I need to migrate all my existing data across or will it be done automatically?

I can help you downgrade your subscription from QuickBooks Online Essentials to QuickBooks Online Simple Start.

Before anything else, please note that QBO Simple Start does not support multicurrency. If this is already enabled in your account, you will not be able to switch to Simple Start. However, if multicurrency is not yet turned on in your current subscription, you can proceed without migrating your data. Your company file will remain in the same QBO company.

To downgrade your subscription, follow these steps:

1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as the primary admin or company admin.
2. Click the Gear icon and select Subscriptions and billing.
3. Make sure your payment information is up to date.
4. In the QuickBooks subscription section, select Downgrade your plan.
5. Review the available plans and select Choose plan.
6. Follow the on-screen steps to complete the downgrade.
