Invoicing layout is poor

I've just started freelancing as a designer. I decided to suscribe to quickbooks, it's got everything I need at an affordable price. I added my logo but it doesn't appear on invoices, not on the emailed version or the pdf I exported. Also the way you add in work is really unhelpful, I want to add in a general title, then add in each line one by one. To do this I have had to edit the pdf afterwards, adding in the logo myself. You also cannot put in any line returns either on addresses or in your work descriptions. You also cannot get the system to track in the invoice unless it's sent via the system online, which means sending it via an email that is not connected to you personally, it may get lost or put in a junk mail folder. Again I've had to get around this by sending it to myself, then editing the pdf to take out my own email address and put their's back in again and send it by my usual email software. I don't need anything more than what is in the self employed version of quickbooks in terms of what it does, but these small things make it much harder to use than it needs to be.

Invoicing layout is poor

Hello redmazzy,

Starting with the issue with your logo, can you confirm that it is:

  • a .gif, .bmp, .png, .jpg, .jpe, or .jpeg file
  • smaller than 10 MB
  • 24-bits or less in bit depth (or colour depth)
  • square-shaped, since rectangles don’t work
  • using the standard RGB colour space
Note: If your logo is CMKY-formatted, convert it into an RGB image using tools (such as Adobe Photoshop) before you upload it to QuickBooks Online.

Thanks,

Talia

Invoicing layout is poor

The logo is there, it just randomly appears or doesn't appear on invoices. I am a graphic designer so I'm well aware of getting the size and format correct. I can see it on the system, it just doesn't always attach to the invoice.

Hi redmazzy

Does the logo appear on some invoices and not on others when you select print or preview?

We would be grateful if you can provide us with a screen shot of the print or preview screen when you have created an invoice.

It either doesn't appear or does appear on preview and and when I go to print or export the pdf. I know my logo is there because it's in the system and it appears on some.

Hello Redmazzy

Thanks for that. We have tested this issue on a Self Employed account. What have found is it does not show when  we are going to an existing invoice and editing the work information. However if we create a new invoice it shows. Is this happening on brand new invoices as well.If so could you provide an example of the invoice itself?

Thanks

Emma

Hello,

To confirm, is this occurring with new invoices you are creating in the system too?

Thanks,

Please can you also work out a way so that I can send the invoice either via a masked email from me or I can choose to mark it as sent manually so I don't have to find a work around that the system acknowledges. This online version of Quickbooks has EVERYTHING I need bar have to send the invoice via the system if I want it to be acknowledged as sent and be trackable.  My client isn't expecting an email from quickbooks and it could be put in junk mail. I'm happy to send the pdf myself and mark as sent, I don't know why this small change can't be incorporated.
