Is it possible to have a quotation and not an estimate?

I can change the wording on the template from estimate to quotation but the email option insists it must be estimate - we don't use estimates, we use quotations! Very frustrating1

Is it possible to have a quotation and not an estimate?

Hello there, etfelectrical. I hear you. When you've polished your brand to use Quotations, you want every email to reflect that. It can be unexpected when the system still defaults to Estimate despite your customizations.

Since the option to rename the form type is unavailable, here is a workaround:

  1. Open the specific Estimates.
  2. Ensure that you select the quote template under the Design.
  3. Click Print or Download, then select Download.
  4. You'll be routed to the Save As dialog box to change the File name.
  5. Click Save.

From there, you can manually send the estimate with the correct PDF file name and the estimate summary.

You can also refer to the Customize Sales Forms article to personalize your forms.
