Marking Mileage as business

Is there a problem with Quick book Mileage tracking at the moment. I have maked a months worth of business trips , when I try to mark as Business a message pops up to say we are not able to do this now please try later. Is this a general problem or is it just with my account?

Hello Ceramics

Thanks for the screen shots.Having looked into this further in a background tool for your mileage if you change the type from all to just business it should adjust the miles to 6749 which is correct for the calculation. It does not include the personal trips.

Getting the mileage tracking feature back up and running as quickly as possible for you is our goal, @Ceramics.

We've received reports from customers about the inability to view and manage their tracked mileage. Our Product Engineers are currently investigating and working on an immediate fix.

Also, I’d recommend contacting our Customer Care Team to add your account to the list of affected users. This way, you’ll be notified of any updates on the progress of the investigation via email. The investigation not only keeps you updated on the status. It provides the engineers with important information they can use to roll out the permanent solution.

Please get back to me if you have other questions. I'm here to lend you a hand! Have a great day!

I am managing to add my mileage but only by refreshing my page- I am noticing that also it is calculating the mileage at the wrong amount- it is calculating £1,484 for 7570 miles . Screenshot attached

Hi, Ceramics.

Let's run some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate the problem. We can start by accessing QuickBooks Self-Employed account in a private window. This usually resolves any browser-related issues.

Use these keyboard shortcuts depending on the browser you're using:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N.
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P.
  • Internet Explorer: press Ctrl Shift P.
  • Safari: press Command Shift N.

If you're able to download all transactions from 2019 using the download and email feature via the private window, let's clear the browser's cache on your regular web browser or you can press CTRL+Shift and Delete key on your keyboard altogether.

To learn more about the mileage feature and its processes in QuickBooks Self-Employed, you can visit the following resources below:

This should get everything back in working order. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help and provide you additional assistance. You have a wonderful day!

I am still struggling - here is a screen shot of my final Mileage - 8370 miles X 45p (per mile) = £3766 not £3037. I am not sure if the amount it is set to is wrong and if so where I change the amount per mile.

Hello Ceramics

Looking at the screen shot we can see you have 3 vehicles have you looked the other 2 vehicles in the screen shot and do they have any trips logged against them?

I have looked at that- I am trying to update to VW but it doesn't record VW - I no longer have Micra.

But overall the mileage allowance  is still coming out to low for the miles done.Screenshot 2020-01-27 15.24.36.png Screenshot 2020-01-27 15.25.06.png Screenshot 2020-01-27 15.25.24.png Screenshot 2020-01-27 15.25.37.png
