Hi there
Quickbooks self employed has been largely working fine for nearly a year now, but on logging in earlier today I was flooded with error messages needing to reconnect to the bank accounts and fix connection problems- I've had to do this a few times in the past but never been much of an issue
After completing the process, I restarted the app just to make sure changes had been applied, but still same error messages displayed - completed verification for bank accounts again and still no luck - returned to dashboard to now find all the transactions previously reviewed have been duplicated and now have over 700 transactions that need reviewing- I dont want to go deleting bank accounts on the profile in case it wipes out all of the data from the past year! Help!
Hi John,
Thank goodness you were able to fix the errors. However, you got a lot of transactions now. Let's go ahead and remove them.
If you will experience the same thing, please don't troubleshoot it yet and reach out to our Support team instead. That way, they can gather screenshots for documentation purposes. Our engineers can check this further and create a permanent fix.
Please let me know if you still need help handling your downloaded transactions.
Hello there,
Is that the only resolution? There are approximately 350 duplicate transactions that need to be removed, which would take a lot of time to complete.
I still have lots of errors on the.banking page - it seems to be working fine, but with lots of error messages asking to fix the connection and a list of duplicate bank accounts when there should be just one
Thanks
J
Hello again, JohnAnderson,
Excluding transactions is one of the options to remove duplicates in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).
How your financial institutions communicate with QuickBooks can impact the data we receive, which can sometimes lead to duplicate transactions.
While we are at work to improve these connections, there are a few things you can perform to resolve this:
Step 1: Double-check your bank statement
Step 2: Check for duplicate accounts connected
Step 3: Hide a bank account
Step 4: Delete duplicate transactions
Step 5: Exclude the extra transactions
Also, I have the tool to look up for any investigation. Just provide your bank and I'll modify this post for any updates.
I've added the Split and Exclude Transactions article for detailed steps and sample screenshots on how to exclude entries.
I'll keep this post while waiting for your response. Thank you and take care always!
I cannot see an option for 'Delete Duplicate Transactions' on my account, where exactly is it?
Also, why do we suddenly get instances of transactions being duplicated, what is the problem?
In addition, when looking at Unreviewed Transactions in order to select a category, you used to be able to click on for say, Business or Personal and then chose a category, it now immediately gets moved to Reviewed without the chance to change, or select a category, why?
Hello Thecartoonman,
This will be because of the new open banking that all banks have got to move over to.
When you tick the box of the trasnaction you do not want that is a duplicate, at the top in a black bar will give you the work exclude once you click that it will remove the transaction for you.
I tried to reach Support team and the answer im getting is that i need to go through all of the transactions BY HAND, and exclude them . They dont mention they will fix it, and also it is doing this because of bank account cant stay connected and ask for reconnection. This is ridiculous. Please fix this is gonna take me like 8 hours to go through ALL my year transactions...
