Noticed on my tax return that my fuel expenses have been catagorised as both allowable and dissalowable? I cant see there is a difference in transaction level between the ones that are allowable and the ones that are not? Please assist.
Hello there, Lucas260288.
QuickBooks Self-Employed follows the simplified method, which is based on your total miles tracked.
When you click the allowable expenses, you will also see the gas and fuel. However, it only reflects the total for the travel expenses.
Please check this article as your reference: Simplified expenses if you're self-employed.
Don't hesitate to comment if you have any additional questions or concerns. Thanks.
How do I make the expenses allowable as I am pulling in from previous years accounts and I have not allowed tracking of mileage previously.
Hi Caz
As you are using the mileage tracker/mileage tracker has been activated you will have to enter these transactions as the category Travel expenses.
