Bank error

When I first set up Quick books both of my bank accounts were listed with transactions going through.  One of my accounts has now become unattached and I cannot get it to reconnect.  I get an error saying that the site is down for maintenance and to try again in a few hours.  This has now been going on for over 1 week.  My online banking is working fine.

Any help appreciated.

Many thanks.

Bank error

Hi @EmmaReuvers,

I'm here to lend you a hand and get your online bank connection up and running again.

Check out these things you'll need to keep in mind when you're trying to connect a bank:

  • Ensure that you're using the same correct user name and password.
  • Contact your bank to confirm your security answer, in case you forgot.
  • Remember that some security answers are case-sensitive.
  • If you know you're using the correct sign-in information, it might help to change your password on your bank's website and then come back here to re-enter it. It might also help to use the minimum character limit allowed by your bank.

Please see this article for more details on what you can do when you see errors connecting a bank. This article also includes tips when you're having trouble finding your bank.

You're always welcome to post questions in the comments below. Do so if you have anything else in mind, and I'll be sure to get back to you.

Bank error

Thank you. This hasn't helped.  I was able to connect to my bank it is now showing as not connected and I get a 'fix it' button to hit.  When I press this button it tries to fix the connection but I get the following error message:

The Smile Bank (UK) - New Online Banking - Beta site is down for maintenance.

Try connecting again in a few hours. (105)

My bank online site is not down for maintenance as I have been able to access my account as usual for the past week. If I delete the bank account and try to reconnect I will loose all the transactions that I have already inputted.  Please advise what I should do.  All passwords, log in details etc are correct.  I have checked and double checked.

I guess that if this cannot be remedied I'll need to look at alternative software.  I'm only 1 week in to Quickbooks and am spending way too much time trying to rectify errors. Ideally I need something that will be quick, easy to use and reliable.

Many thanks

Bank error

Hi @EmmaReuvers,

I understand how you feel since I know that It's not easy when you're unable to finish your tasks as soon as possible. Currently, we have an on-going issue where users like you received the Error 105 for Smile Bank UK banking feeds.

Rest assured that this has been escalated to our engineering team and they're in all hands working to fix this as soon as possible.

In the meantime, you can manually download your transactions directly from your bank's website. Once you've downloaded them, you can import them to your QuickBooks. To do so:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Transactions, select Imports.
  3. Choose your bank account.
  4. Under ACTION, select Import older transactions.
  5. Click Import.

To add, I've included an article you can read to learn more about importing your transactions: Import Transactions From Other Sources.

Lastly, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Support so you'll be added to the list of affected users. Once added, you'll receive all available updates through your email.

In case you need some related articles for your future online banking tasks, you can visit our QuickBooks Self-Employed Help Articles page for reference.

We appreciate your patience as we're working on this. Please let me know in the comment section down below if you have any other concerns.
