Hello Ipreacher-icloud,

Welcome to the Community page,

Is this happening on just the app or the web browser or on both?

On the app. Or it also comes up with ‘looks like transactions are duplicated’ then when I click to view it says ‘oops it’s our fault not yours ‘ but it never shows apparent duplicated transactions

Thank you for posting here in the QuickBooks Community, @lpreacher-icloud

It isn't the kind of experience that we want you to come across. I got the steps you need to fix this unusual behavior in your QuickBooks app.

When the application is not fully functional, performing the recommended basic troubleshooting steps will resolve the issue.

First, clear the app's cache files. Doing so helps in fixing any sorts of errors in the system. You can follow these steps:

  1. Click the Help menu at the top of the screen.
  2. Select the Rest App Data option on the drop-down selection.

If you get the same result, uninstall and reinstall the QuickBooks app. This way, you can ensure you get the most recent version of the application.

If you need more insights, I recommend visiting the How to download the QuickBooks Online mobile app article. You can bookmark the website for future reference about the download and installation process.

Reach out to me whenever you have additional questions or concerns. Please know the Community has your back, and I'm here ready to help you. Have a good one!

Hello , thank you for the tips..: I think I need to spend some time getting to know my ‘quick books’ app… I can’t find the ‘rest app’ that you suggested and the app is now not saying transactions have been duplicated … it seems to be behaving !! If it happens again I think I will do an online chat with a ‘real human’ and get someone to talk me through it x

I can help you locate the rest app data in your QuickBooks Self-Employed, lpreacher-icloud.

The is three horizontal lines can be found at the left bottom of your app's screen. Then, you can go to your phone settings and reset the app data from there. Here's how:

  1. Go to your phone Settings.
  2. Tap Apps and Notifications.
  3. Look for the QuickBooks Self-Employed app.
  4. Select Reset App Data.

If you're still getting issues after resetting the app's data, I suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Please know that uninstalling the app won't lose any data in your QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Hey .. this is gonna make me sound like a complete ‘thec phobic weirdo’ (and I’m the opposite normally honestly) but I don’t have 3 horizontal lines on my app screen anywhere (bottom left you said but defo nowhere ) and in my settings there is no option on apps to reset app data. I’m using iPhone XR (don’t know if that’s different to eg Samsung or not)!!

Thanks for confirming what type of device you're using, lpreacher-icloud.

This helps us make sure that we give you the correct set of troubleshooting steps for the right type of device. It looks like the steps that were given to you were for the QBO Desktop and for Android devices.

No worries, I'll help you make sure we get this working. For iOS, you'll need to temporarily uninstall the QBSE app, then install it again to resolve the issue. Here's how:

  1. Touch and hold the app on your screen
  2. Select Remove app

After removing, reinstall it using this link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/quickbooks-self-employed/id898076976.

Once done, go back to the Transactions tab and check if you can already view the duplicated transactions.

I'll also have these additional articles to share for more details and guidance when working in QBSE:

Visit us anytime you have questions or other concerns. I'll be around to assist you again. Thanks!

Good morning …

just to confirm deleting the app won’t loose my data? And once reinstalled everything will still be there?

Yes that is correct, uninstalling will not make you loss any of your data that you have entered in, It will all still be in your account. When you reinstall it and log into your account you will see everything that you have entered in.
