What steps are Intuit taking for HMRC closure of company accounts and tax return service?

HMRC are closing the company accounts and tax return service to force people to use commercial software. Intuit do not appear in any of the lists of suppliers for Commercial Tax. Are they working on it, or should I start to seek an alternative supplier?

I will make sure to provide an alternative solution for submitting your commercial tax return, Ken.

I understand that QuickBooks Online (QBO) has not yet been listed as recognized as the software provider for submitting the Commercial Tax with HMRC.

While the decision to close the company accounts and tax return service was made by HMRC and is beyond QuickBooks' control, this change presents an opportunity for QuickBooks to enhance its software and provide even better service to our customers.

As an alternative, users were advised to utilize the company's house using third-party, web services or paper filings. See this page for your guidance: Closure of the service to file your company accounts and tax return.

You'll also want to consult your accountant for additional guidance in completing and submitting your Company Tax Return (CT600 form) on your behalf, please refer to the article: File your corporation tax return using Workpapers in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

Moreover, QuickBooks allows you to create reports on your VAT obligations, and input or modify VAT payments: Manage VAT payments in QuickBooks Online. These features will assist you in handling your VAT responsibilities more efficiently and accurately.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate through this process. Rest assured, we will keep you informed of any updates or developments as soon as they become available.
