Whatever date I put in for a business mileage trip the summary registers it as the day before? eg. 1st August appears as 31st July? Is this a glitch or settings issue?

This isn’t what I want for you to experience when recording your business mileage trip. Let’s perform the basic troubleshooting steps and then check the system date to fix the issue.

You can start by signing in to QBO using the incognito mode or private browsing. This doesn't use the existing webpage cache data which can cause unexpected behavior in the program.

Here's how to bring up one:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox).
  • Press Command + Shift + N (Safari).

From there, add your trips using the correct date. If this works, clear your cache and cookies. This will reset your web browser's data and improves the overall browsing performance. Then, check the date and time settings of your computer.

I also recommend running the Browser Health Checkup Tool. This is to ensure that the browser and system are optimally configured for QBO.

You can bookmark this guide for future reference. It provides information on how to manage trips when using a mobile device or on a web browser: Automatically track mileage in QuickBooks Online.
