Been using for 2 months now. But my total profit is higher than my actual profit. How do I fix it? I think my first payment has duplicated.

I have my profit and loss section which is fine but when I look at total profits the figure is much higher and I can't work out why or how to fix it.

Hey there, stevenblakesih-g. I'm here to help and get your profit fixed.

The amounts on the reports may differ due to reasons like different date ranges and reporting basis. I'd suggest filtering the Accounting Method and ensuring the date is correct.

However, if the date and accounting basis are accurate, I'd suggest pulling up the Transaction Detail by Account report and checking the payments. If you see that they're duplicates, you can delete them to fix the issue.

Here's how to pull up the report:

  1. Click Reports in the left panel.
  2. Search and select for Transaction Detail by Account.
  3. Look for the duplicate transaction and delete it.

I recommend customising the report to get the specific details you need. You can also memorise it to save its current customisation settings. It serves as your record and helps you quickly access it for future use.

I'll be around to help you if you have additional questions in QuickBooks Online. I want to make sure I've got you covered. Have a good one.
