You’ve come to the right place, @Richard.
I’d be glad to guide you on how to generate reports to show the data you need.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), there are many ways to personalise reports. You’ll just filter them to show the specific accounts, customer, and format layout to show the right data.
Though you can filter reports to show the data you need, some filters are only available on certain reports. That being said, may I know what report you’re referring to? This way, I’d be able to provide you with the right resolution. Any additional detail is appreciated.
Nevertheless, if you’re referring to your Invoice List by Date report, you can customise it to have the past due column. Then, export it Excel to add a class column. For reference, you can run the Sales by Class Detail report. Let me show you how:
You can also check this article for more details about personalising reports in QBO: Customise reports in QuickBooks Online.
It’s also great to save the current settings of the report. That way, you won’t have to customise it again in case you need to run the same data.
Let me know if you have other queries about reports in QBO. I’ll be around ready to back you up. Have a jolly day ahead!
Hi,
Thank for your reply.
I understand how to customise reports and I have found the 'Due date' column. 'Due date' does not tell me how long overdue payment is whereas the 'Past due' column shows this clearly.
I need to combine a single report (without downloading to excel) that shows 'Past due' with amount unpaid by invoice sorted by class. We have a different sales team for each class of customer and I don't want to send all customer data to every sales person.
I have been through every standard report and checked the customisation columns and filters for each one but can not find a solution.
Thanks,
Richard
Hi there, richard91.
For now, we don't have a single report in QuickBooks Online that will show both Past Due and Class columns. As a workaround, you can the Sales by Class Detail and A/R Aging Detail Report. The Sales by Class Detail can be customized to add a column for Class, while the A/R Aging Detail has an option to add a past Due column.
Then export them to Excel where you can merge or combine the data from these reports. Just click the Export icon in the upper-right hand corner of each report.
