I hope you're doing well, Prospectpro1. Let me share some insights regarding the financial year date challenges you encountered with the Trial Balance report in QuickBooks Online.
Please note that the Trial Balance report displays data for only one financial year at a time. It cannot show information that spans two different fiscal or calendar years in a single report, which is why the system is only retrieving data for 2025.
If you need to view the expenses from May 28, 2024, to May 31, 2025, you can use the Profit and Loss report or the Transaction Detail by Account report. These reports allow you to customize the date range and display detailed expense transactions for your selected time frame.
Here’s how:
- Go to the Reports menu in QuickBooks Online.
- Select the Profit and Loss or Transaction Detail by Account report.
- Choose the date range in the Report Period drop-down from May 28, 2024, to May 31, 2025.
- Next, customize and filter the report.
- Click Run Report to see your expenses for the full period.
