How do I show a total on the TAG report

Hi, @ShopAdmin.

I can help walk you through the steps on how to show the tag total amount reports in QuickBooks Online.

Let's open the Profit and Loss by Tag Group instead of the Transaction list by Tag Group to show the total amount. You can customize it to show the specific details.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports tab on the left side, then type Profit and Loss by Tag Group in the search box.
  2. Click the Customize button.
  3. Choose a Report period in the drop-down.
  4. Under Columns drop-down, choose the group name.
  5. In the Tags drop-down, pick the exact group name under the Filter field.
  6. Tap Run Report
  7. Click the amount under the group name., then the transaction report will show up.

You can also hit the Save Customization to save the report. It will save on the Custom report page. Memorizing reports in QuickBooks, it’ll help you save time since it automatically updates every time there are newly added transactions.

You also have an option to turn on the Automatic send email reports feature in QBO. For more information, visit this article: Set schedule and email information for a memorised report.

Just hit the Reply button if you have any other questions. I'll keep an eye on your response.

How do I show a total on the TAG report

Hi @MichelleBh

Thanks for the detailed reply.

It seems that the only way to report on these flags is to generate a P&L report, and then I can only view each account individually.

I wanted to able to show "all transactions" across all the accounts where they have been allocated a TAG....and this I cannot do.

I have also found a major failing in the TAGS......you cannot "hide them/delete them" when you want to stop using them and still retain the data that you have allocated against them....as such they are there in the pick list for ever - even when the TAG is no longer being used
