The reason you don't see Tags in the Gear icon is that QuickBooks has recently updated its interface and is gradually transitioning Tags to Custom fields. For more information, you can refer to this article: Overview of custom fields capabilities in QuickBooks Online.
Due to this transition, the filters available in reports are limited, which is why you can't filter by tag name. However, you can directly access the tags report from the Tags section. Here’s how:
- Click the Gear icon.
- Select All lists.
- Choose Tags.
- In the Action column, click Run report next to the tag you want to view.
