Hello there, Nifty_Discounts.

The Profit and Loss graph and data shown in our Dashboard is the overview of the company from up-to-date. The option to pin a customize report in the QuickBooks dashboard is unavailable. We can save a customised report so we don't have to filter the display. Once we've saved it it will be moved to the Custom Reports tab.

I'll show you how to save a customised report:

  1. Go to the Reports menu and click Profit and Loss.
  2. Customise the report and then click Run report
  3. Click Save customisation at the upper-right. Give a name to the report.
  4. To locate it just click the Custom reports tab, next to Standard

I'll be here if you need more help. Take care!

Let me share some information about how interim dividends posted, Nifty_Discounts.

If the dividends that were declared but not yet paid are posted in the Balance Sheet report. Then, they'll be under the heading of the current liabilities section.

For dividends on common stock are not reported on the income statement since they are not expenses. However, dividends on preferred stock will appear on the income statement as a subtraction from net income. This report the earnings available for common stock.

In the meantime, you can run the Tax Liability report or Balance Sheet report to see your corporation tax liability at glance.

On my home screen my 'profit & loss' has subtracted my interim dividends. Is there any way to avoid this so I can appreciate my corporation tax liability at a glance?

Thank you,

Yes, interim dividends on ordinary share holdings are below the line as it were, so do not have an impact on my net operating income

The issue I have however, is that on the QB 'dashboard' the profit / loss links into my profit and loss report, taking the bottom line which includes 'other expenses'.

I can create a custom report to filter this line out, however cannot get this into my home screen. Is there any way I can put my own custom report on the 'dashboard'?
