Thanks for getting back to us ru4fish, if the report shows this error when running then the volume of data is too large to display, instead you can export the report to Excel and this will contain all of the data requested. We appreciate this is currently a product limitation and have passed your feedback onto our development team.

We appreciate your feedback we have a Community article which does detail the file size and feature limits with QuickBooks Online with pointers on what could cause an issue including character limits in fields.

The problem arises on the generation of reports - just running a nominal/general ledger report for 'Last Financial Year' throws up a message 'This date range is too long. Please change the dates and try again'.  Clearly it isn't too long, so I assume it is a problem with the volume of data (but I can't see this listed as a restriction in the link).

 

It seems to be a issue that QBO support is aware of because they didn't seem surprised.
