Bank adjustments and matching

Hi

I've erroneously made a payment of additional £180 against an invoice received from a supplier. I will be adjusting this amount against their next invoice. How to I match or balance this in Quickbooks

No problem at all, what you can do is record the payment you made to the supplier which will leave you in credit with supplier and an unapplied payment. Then with your next Invoice you should be able to apply the unapplied payment.

Hello ADsouza,

Welcome to Community.

If the payment has been made in reality as well as being recorded in QuickBooks they should match up. However if you have only recorded it in QuickBooks you can always delete the transaction. To delete the payment just open the one you wish to delete then select more then delete.

Please let me know if this helps resolve this for you.

Re: Bank adjustments and matching

Thank you for your reply. The payment has been made in reality. So should I enter the actual amount paid in QB or the correct invoice amount?  The next invoice from the supplier, I will be paying £180 less than the invoice amount. So how do I adjust all this in QB?
