Can I lock a period down to prevent other users posting transactions to a previous period? Still in same financial year. I know you can in Xero.

Thanks for posting here in the Community, info295.

Yes, you are able to lock a period to prevent any changes to transactions dated earlier than the closing date or previous period

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and Account and Settings.
  2. In the Advanced section, click on the pencil icon to edit Accounting.
  3. Mark to select Close the books checkbox.
  4. Set the Closing date.
  5. Choose Allow changes after viewing a warning and entering a password.
  6. Create and confirm the password.
  7. Click on Save and Done.

For more information, you can check out this article: Close the books.

I'm also linking an article just in case you need help with changing the closing date password.

Let me know in the comment section on how it goes. I'll keep an eye to your response. Have a great day.
