Hello everyone! I'm a new-bookkeeper-wanna-be from Bulgaria and I just bought the Quickbooks essentials plan for a year. I'm still learning the program and I have some newbie questions.
Let's say I get a client and we agree to work together for a certain amount of time and then what? What's next? What information does he have to give me so that I can start working for him? His bank ID, his Quickbooks ID (what if he doesn't have a Quickbooks ID) or some of his invoices in excel/pdf? I know it's a newbie question, but I'm trying to clear things up a bit in my head. I'm looking forward to your advice. Thanks in advance.
Hello Kristiyan, Welcome to Quickbooks and our Community page! To answer your question,it really depends on what your client is currently using for his invoicing/bookkeeping. If they have the invoices/bills/previous bank data in an excel format you can go to the settings cog in the top right of QB and import data>invoice. You can do that for bills, bank data, estimates, journals, and more. You can also connect their bank so it pulls through income and expenses which can then be categorised. If your company is located in Bulgaria, you should open QBO Global version for Bulgaria. They don't offer QBO Accountant version for QBO Global version. You clients may invite you as Company Admin to manage their books.
But to manage your clients in UK, you may open a QBO Accountant UK version for free.

I tried to open a free QBO UK account, but couldn't as it required me to fill a UK based phone number that I do not have. What should I do now?
Hi Kristiyan, will your clients be based in the UK or overseas? Each QuickBooks product is regionally-based, meaning you'd need to subscribe using a bank card registered to that specific region for billing purposes. 🙇:female_sign:
At first I thought of working with clients overseas, but as I was told I can use a free QBO version for clients in the UK, I decided to work with clients from the UK.
