Hi there, Chris. Have you set up any bank rules recently? If so, QuickBooks will now automatically categorise matching transactions for you. You can manage these rules if you want to by going to the Gear icon > Rules > Delete or Disable from the dropdown menu.
Also, please note that the new banking page includes built-in AI that suggests categories based on your history. While this feature cannot be turned off, it makes your bookkeeping faster and more accurate while ensuring you maintain full control to review and approve every transaction before it is finalised.
If you are using the classic version, the Enable suggested categorization feature might be active, causing the program to automatically pre-fill categories for you. To turn this off, go to Bank transactions > For Review > mini Gear icon. Under the Transaction details section, uncheck the feature and click the Gear icon again to save the changes.
