How do I change Car/Van Expenses to become a Tax Allowable Expense, within the Self Employed Quickbooks?

Let me provide you some information on how the car or van expenses become tax allowable, stonelandscapema.

QuickBooks Self-Employed uses the simplified expenses method to calculate the allowable business expenses for your car, van, or motorcycle. Usually, the rate is based on the mileage you drive. You'll want to use a flat rate to claim business mileage instead of claiming the actual cost of fuel and maintenance.

In addition, you can't claim vehicle insurance, repairs, and servicing, or fuel costs, but you can claim all other travel expenses in addition to your simplified expense amount. For more information, you can also read this article: Car, Van, and Travel Expenses.

There are costs that you can claim as allowable expenses. Please check out for more information: Expenses If You're Self-Employed.
