I can't split a manually entered expense... help!!

I'm quite new to Quickbooks, and have been happily splitting transactions that have been entered from my bank account. I have just tried on the app and desktop versions to manually enter a car expense, but I don't get the option to split it. What am I doing wrong? It is listed as a business expense, which it isquickbooks.jpg

I can't split a manually entered expense... help!!

Welcome to QuickBooks, Ladamemott!

We're unable to split transactions that are manually entered. Instead, you can separately enter them. Yes, you can split transactions that were downloaded from your bank.

You might want to check these articles that will help you manage manually and bank downloaded transactions. Then, categorise them once added.

Thanks for choosing QuickBooks. I'll be here if you need more help!

I didn't finish my message, sorry. You can see the transaction below gave me the option to split when I held my mouse over 'business', but the W Sanders one doesn't give me that option...
