Hello Jo b,

To record this refund, you will need to follow the steps of a supplier refund (we appreciate your bank is not a supplier, however this is the only way to record it within the account correctly - because of this you will need to create your bank as supplier).

1. Create a supplier credit (+ > supplier credit). Select your bank as the supplier, fill in the date you received the refund, and select the account you would like this refund to post against. Fill in the full amount, selecting the appropriate VAT code, or No VAT.

2. Create a bank deposit (+ > bank deposit). Select the bank account you received the refund to. Select your bank in the received from column, and Creditors as the account. Fill in the whole amount with No VAT as the code.

3. Link the credit and the deposit together by creating a Cheque (+ > Cheque). Select your bank in the supplier box and add both the credit and the deposit from the pop up box on the right hand side. Save.

4. Match the deposit in your bank feed, if you have it connected.

Thanks,

Talia
