Insurance Claim Recording

I  have an invoice that has partly been paid directly to the supplier by the insurance company.  I am not sure how I record this.  Any help gratefully received.  Thank you.

Hi julie39, The supplier invoice, if the money was paid by a third party for you, you have the option of using supplier credit to pay off the invoice.As it is not funds that are going to paid to you to pay the supplier by the insurance company or you could use a journal entry to reduce the creditor and on the 2nd line adjust the expense account as was on the original bill, It might be worth then confirming with an accountant they are happy with this,
