Hi jonathan-darbey
The product/services that you include in your invoices can be allocated to a specific sale/income account.
If you have already added products to QuickBooks: Cog/gear icon in the top right hand corner of the screen >product and services >to the right hand side of your product select the edit option > in the Income account section select an income out or create your own > select also update this account in historical transactions.
If you haven't already created any products/services select the cog/gear icon > products and services >New > enter the details and as above in the Income account section select an income account or create one.
thanks for the response. to clarify what we are looking for;
we do not / we cannot use the generate invoice features in quickbooks.
we have our own software for invoice generation.
how do we import such invoices, or a import a bulk CSV file, so income can be tracked, logged and accounted for as sales/income in quickbooks software?
is this offered out-of-the-box? if not, if this possible through an API?
Hello jonathan-darbey,
Welcome to the Community. I'm here to assist you with any questions you may have about importing invoices to QuickBooks Online.
At this time, you can only import lists into QBO, such as the bank accounts names, customer and vendor contacts, and products and services. To import your invoice transactions, you'll need to check with your third-party app if the integration with our system is available.
If it's unavailable, I recommend checking our App Center for any programs available that'll help you sync transactions. If you need help using an API, it would be best to seek assistance through our Intuit Developer's website.
You can post your question into this link: https://developer.intuit.com.
If you want to know more about what you can migrate to the QuickBooks system, I'm attaching the article that'll help you:
Move your lists to QuickBooks Online.
Get back to me if you have any follow-up questions with the invoice features. I'm always up to lend a hand.
