Validation failed, Cannot create expense for receipt

Hi there, redmandecorating. Let me help you with contacting our support team and troubleshooting your QuickBooks Online (QBO) app or browser.

We've received reports of similar cases related to creating an expense in QBO  (INV-107538). If you're using iOS,  I encourage calling our QuickBooks Online Support team. This way, they can help you further and route you to higher-tier support.

If you're using an Android, consider uninstalling your QuickBooks app and reinstalling it. This will let you start fresh and use the app seamlessly.

However, if you're using QBO on a browser, I recommend performing browser troubleshooting steps. Let me help you by logging into your QBO account using a private browser. Sometimes, issues related to cache can cause QBO to load incorrectly, which leads to not letting you create an expense for receipt.

Here's how:

Here are some steps that can resolve unexpected results in QBO:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If you can successfully log in using a private browser, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache.

In addition, you can refer to these articles to learn how to manage your bills and expenses in QBO:

Don't hesitate to reply to this post if you still have concerns about creating an expense in QBO. I'm always available to help you.
