Hi there, sdeancorke-yahoo.

When you send an estimate, the text format is at the top and the pdf is at the bottom. This is how the estimate looks like in QuickBooks Online. Then, yes, there is a way on how you can change the looks or the style of your estimate. To do this, you'll have to customize the entry in the system.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon ⚙ and select Custom Form Styles.
  2. Select New Style.
  3. Select a sales form type or Estimate.
  4. Choose the Design tab and Give your template a name.
  5. Select Change up the template to choose a layout. These layouts are fixed. I recommend the Airy new. Note: If you plan to use SKUs or create progress invoices, you need to use Airy new.
  6. Select Make logo edits to upload a new logo. Then, Select Splash on some colour and pick a colour scheme. You can enter a hex code for a truly custom colour.
  7. Select Get a different font to change the font and size.
  8. Select When in doubt, print it out to adjust the margins. This is important if you send printed forms to your customers.
  9. Go to the Content and Emails section to make any changes if necessary.
  10. Hit Done to save the customized template.

For additional information, you can click this article: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Once done, you can open an estimate and choose the customize template you've created. This way, you can verify if the entry already looks what you want to see.

If the changes don't apply, I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks account using a private browser. This is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue, and private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.

Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using.

  • For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If it works in incognito, I recommend clearing the cache of your regular browser. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. You can check this article to see the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as alternatives.
