Hi Laura, I want to ensure we resolve your QuickBooks Sole Trader inquiry correctly.
Are you referring to the Dashboard widgets? The platform defaults to expenses because it is designed for Self-Assessment alignment, prioritizing cost-tracking to help lower tax liability. Income is often omitted from the home screen because the system expects it to flow through the Invoicing tool or the Banking tab.
When in the Bank transactions page, it's also essential to apply a filter to bypass expenses and view your income immediately. By doing so, you can itemize this list to make editing your income transactions easier.
Another way to view your income is by clicking the income totals or amount in your Profit and Loss report. This allows you to view all the transactions associated with the income amount listed in your report.
