why is my address at the top of the invoice coming up showing ST not Staffordshire like it shows in my company details information

QuickBooks abbreviates Staffordshire as ST for customer-facing address when sending invoices.
 

As a workaround, you can include Staffordshire in parentheses next to the city name in the customer-facing address. Here's how:
 

1. Click on the Gear icon, then choose Account and settings.
   
2. Choose Company tab.
3. Under Customer contact info, select Customer address.
4. Add Staffordshire in parentheses after the city name. 
5. Hit Save, then Done.
