Bank Interest generating VAT liability! My linked business bank account in QB. I've gained £10.00 of interest, but it is creating a VAT liability? How to correct?

A VAT code might have been added when the interest was matched or added when it was categorized in the Online Banking, Paul. You can edit the transaction that has the interest to change the VAT code that is resulting in the liability.

 

I'll provide you with all the necessary steps to resolve this issue. Here's a detailed guide on how to proceed:

 

  1. Open your bank register and look for the added interest.
  2. Proceed to the VAT column, then change the code to the correct one.
  3. Click Save and close.
