I have a client who is shutting. His VAT quarter ends 30/11/20 but I want to submit a return for 31/10/2020. He is MTD registered. I cannot find a way to change the date?

Since your client's Vat return's Accounting period is set to Quarterly, change the reporting period on what the date you'll want to include in the return.

1. Go to the Taxes menu and select VAT.
2. From the Returns tab, look for the October return and click Prepare return. 
3. Select the date range, above the VAT Return.
4. Click on the Submit to HMRC button.

If you're unable to change it, I'd suggest contacting a tax adviser or HMRC support to ensure that you've properly handled your VAT return.
