Hello, I am looking for a report that will show me income that is VATable over a period of time and income that doesn't attract vat- is it possible to get in one report? I can do this by creating a P&L report and then a separate VAT 100 report but ideally I want on one report. Thanks!

Perfect- exactly what I need! Thank you
I'll be your guide in creating one report for VAT and non-VAT income, @lkoups.
You can export the P&L and VAT 100 reports to Excel separately. This way, you'll be able to modify it from there to generate one report for VAT and non-VAT income.
To export a report, just click on the export button at the top of the report and choose Export to Excel. Please see the sample snip for your reference:

Thank you- if I export to excel, how do I prevent overlap? For example, the P&L will include the VATable elements as well? Thanks
Exporting the Profit and Loss report will not include the VATable elements, lkoups.
The Profit and Loss report will only show all your income and expense accounts. As long as you're pulling up the correct and accurate reports, this will not overlap the details when exporting them into Excel.
I recommend customising the report to get the specific details you need. You can also memorise it to save its current customisation settings. It serves as your record and helps you quickly access it for future use.

Thanks- so the P&L for income will show a total amount that will include invoices that have a VAT element and the VAT 100 will show the amount for the P&L that are VATable?
Hello @lkoups,
As mentioned by my peer @RoseMarjorieA, the Profit and Loss report will not include the VATAble elements.
To produce a VAT Detail report, you can go to Reports, All Reports, Manage VAT, and select the VAT Detail Report.
You can also view it from the VAT center. Just go to VAT, Prepare Return, hover over the amounts, and click on View Transactions.
For future reference, you'll want to filter your report to show details that matter to you and your business. Read through this article for more insights: Common custom reports in QuickBooks Online.
Let me know if you have additional questions. I'm always delighted to help.
Sorry, I’m a bit confused about your reply. I thought that the profit and loss would include the income portion of the VAT element and would not exclude it? The VAT 100 revolt would include the income and the VAT element. The profit and loss shows income and doesn’t distinguish whether it is VAT or not VAT
I appreciate you for getting back to us, lkoups.
We can customize the Profit and Loss report to include whether the transactions are taxable or not. Let me guide you with these steps:
If you want to save the same set of customization, you can memorize it.
I'm just a post-away if there's anything that I can help. Keep safe!
