Thanks for reaching out in the Intuit Community, @Grid Neutral.

Once you select the No VAT as a tax code, the transactions should not be showing in the Box 7 of the vat return. However, if you set up VAT, QuickBooks Online automatically sets up a list of common VAT codes for you.

Also, I'd recommend reaching out to a tax expert for further guidance on how to handle your VAT and NON-VAT codes to ensure the accuracy when filing the forms.

For additional information, I'm including some helpful articles that you can check on how different VAT codes work in QuickBooks Online:

Once done, you'll want to check this link for future guidance when you’re ready to submit your VAT return. This provides detailed information in processing your return efficiently.

Hi @Grid Neutral

No - use Z=0% to make sure that the amounts hit Box 7 of the VAT Return (which they should do).

Hope this helps.
