VAT codes

Hi there, @billmaxwell.

I've got some ideas on what VAT codes you should use on your invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Once you set up VAT, QuickBooks Online automatically sets up a list of common VAT codes for you. If you ship goods to a customer in an EC Member State, you should not charge VAT if your customer supplied a valid VAT registration number. You can check the VAT number at the European Commission website.

To check what specific EC VAT code is applicable on your invoices, please see the EC VAT codes and rates section in this article: Common VAT Codes in QuickBooks.

This will show you the list of EC VAT codes that you can use in qualifying your invoices. This also includes the details on how they will be reported in your VAT 100 return.

Additionally, you can reach out to your accountant for further guidance in handling your taxes in QuickBooks. This way, we can ensure that the VAT report in your sales transactions is accurate.

Please know that our doors are always open to help you with any QuickBooks-related concerns. Take care and enjoy the day!
